CLEARANCE-TEST, VOH SA's last innovation in the field of balance wheel clearance measurement.
During the last 20 years, VOH SA innovated and pushed further the limit of quality control in the microtechnology industries, especially in the watchmaking industry. The experience cumulated and a dedicated attention to the watchmaking industry's needs brought VOH SA to develop CLEARANCE-TEST. CLEARANCE-TEST is equipment that allows balance wheel clearance measurement on a functioning movement.
The movement that's being measured is placed on a tailor made holder with built in RFID tag. The automated recognition of the holder initiates the test sequence. The balance wheel clearance measure is done as follow: The zero position is taken through force free contact with the balance-cock. A controlled force is then applied on the balance-cock to provide a stick and slip free displacement. During this phase, the displacement is measured through an Heidenhain sensor while the balance wheel frequency is monitored by a vision system (CMOS technology) developed by VOH SA. This system operates under controlled light and is not affected by the reflection on the components. Balance wheel clearance is measured when the endstone touches the pivot thus slowing the balance wheel. The balance wheel clearance measurement's precision is of +/- 2µm. The equipment features a streamline flow and connectors for data export, tickets printing and barcode scanner. Finally, a color touch screen provides information about tests results to the user.
